Ilia Kitup, geb. 1964 in Vilnius, Litauen, ist ein russischsprachiger Dichter, Künstler, Comic-Zeichner, Musiker und Herausgeber. Er lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Seit 1991 ist er der Betreiber des PROPELLER Verlags. Bis heute wurden seine Bilder und Comics bei rund 30 individuellen Ausstellungen in Berlin, Bielefeld, Potsdam, Moskau und Amsterdam präsentiert. Seine Gedichte und Comics erschienen bis jetzt auf Russisch und Englisch. Ilia Kitup ist der offizielle Botschafter der litauischen (Künstler-)Republik Užupis in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

Ilia Kitup, born 1964 in Vilnius, Lithuania, is a Russian-speaking poet, artist, comicstrip artist, musician and publisher. He lives and works in Berlin. Since 1991 he is also the managing director of the publishing company PROPELLER. So far his pictures and comics have been shown at 30 or so individual exhibitions in Berlin, Bielefeld, Potsdam, Moscow and Amsterdam. His poems and comics have to date been published in Russian as well as in English. Ilia Kitup is the official ambassador of the Lithuanian (artist-) republic Užupis in Germany.

Die Osteuropa Tage Berlin sind 2016 aus den Bulgarischen Kulturtagen entstanden. Organisiert werden sie vom Berliner Verein Städtepartner Stettin e. V. Das ursprüngliche Konzept wurde auf ost- und mitteleuropäische Kulturen ausgeweitet. Die Bandbreite des Programms geht von Ausstellungen bis Übersetzungsworkshops, von Lesungen bis zu Länderabenden, von Exkursionen nach Polen bis zu Märchennachmittagen für Kinder. 2018 läuft das Festival mit ein bis zwei Veranstaltungen pro Monat das ganze Jahr.

The “Osteuropa Tage Berlin” (Days of Eastern Europe) emerged from the days of Bulgarian culture organized back in 2016 by the Berlin NGO Städtepartner Stettin e. V. The initial concept was transformed so as to incorporate the culture of Eastern and Central European countries. The range of the festival’s program goes from exhibitions to translation workshops, to readings and trips to Poland, all the way to themed country evening (dedicated to Poland or Bulgaria) and fairytale afternoons with parents and children. After a very successful edition in 2017, this year the festival’s program is spread throughout the entire year, with up to two events being held each month.
